Southern RouteIt starts off with a windy little paved road with huge potholes and then shifts to a typical improved dirt/gravel road. |
![]() after only a few minutes of driving we stopped at this picnic site complete with barbeques and outhouses. |
![]() FR 85 goes to the left here. We followed it hoping to find a long trail along the mountain ridge. Now I think we should have taken the earlier trail to the left - maybe next time.... |

![]() we took a few "short" sidetrails which were interesting but nothing difficult |
![]() But eventually we found this DEAD END. You can't see it in the pic but it is one of the typical earth berm trail stops. There is a little sign on the tree on the left officially declaring the trail closed. |

![]() after retuning to the intersection of FR 85 and FR 32 we followed FR32 down the west side of the mountain just above this valley.... |
